Noridian helps thousands of Veterans nationwide

By: Katie Shequen, VP of Clinical Services at Noridian Healthcare Solutions

In honor of Veterans Day, we want to thank all Veterans for their service and highlight the important work of the Staff Sergeant Parker Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP). The three-year community-based grant program offers financial assistance to organizations who provide suicide prevention services to eligible Veterans and their families. SSG Fox SPGP honors Veteran Parker Gordon Fox who joined the Army in 2014 and was a sniper instructor at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Ft. Benning, GA. As of September 2023, the program has already awarded $52.5 million in grants to 80 community-based organizations working to prevent Veteran suicides.

Earlier this year, Noridian Healthcare Solutions along with prime contractor Verve, LLC,  a service-disabled Veteran-owned, Women-owned small business on the program, started supporting the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and its staff in implementing SSG Fox SPGP.  In a matter of months, our work has resulted in more than 2,600 participants enrolled, starting services or completing the program. This in part due to Noridian and Verve’s support of performing more than 13,000 types of outreach activities.

As a company who is committed to enabling access to health care, we know that strong partnerships are essential to making that commitment a reality. We appreciate the Verve team for their ongoing support and commitment to this important work. That feeling is reciprocated by Verve’s president Penny Aktepy who shares:

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with the Noridian team for over a year on the Staff Sergeant Parker Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program contract. From the quality of Noridian’s work to their willingness to collaborate with the Verve team, it’s been a successful partnership that has positively impacted thousands of Veterans nationwide. It is clear Noridian values partners and prioritizes collaboration for the betterment of the customer. I look forward to continuing to work with Noridian on this contract and future ones.”

We look forward to continuing this important work with Verve to ensure all Veterans and their loved ones have access to these essential resources. As you honor and thank the millions of Veterans for their service, remember to also check in with them. Although suicide rates among Veterans have declined over the years, there is still work to be done.
