Noridian Re-awarded CMS JF Contract

Jul 23, 2018

Noridian has been re-awarded the Part A and Part B Medicare Administrative Contractor Jurisdiction F (JF) contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), concluding a full-and-open competitive procurement. Under this re-award, Noridian will continue to perform the JF contract which it was first awarded in 2011.

“The re-award reflects Noridian’s strong performance as a Medicare contractor, as well as our ability to implement innovations and enhancements to provide the best value throughout the contract,” said Paul Wilson, president and CEO. “This is a direct reflection of the great work of our employees.”

Under the JF contract, Noridian processes claims for Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The contract serves 74,000 physicians and over 500 hospitals. Jurisdiction F represents 6.2% of the national Part A and B claims volume.

Beginning with a single Medicare contract in 1966 serving Medicare beneficiaries only in North Dakota, today Noridian serves beneficiaries, health care providers and suppliers across the U.S. In addition to the JF contract, Noridian holds four other MAC contracts including the Medicare Part A/Part B contract for Jurisdictions E, two Durable Medical Equipment contracts for Jurisdiction D and Jurisdiction A, and the national Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding contract. Noridian also holds a Supplemental Review Contract (SMRC) to conduct medical review in all U.S. states and territories, as directed by CMS. The company currently employs almost 2,000 individuals across the U.S.
