Noridian CMD Receives National Award for Distinguished Service

Dr. Felice Caldarella, a certified medical director (CMD) at Noridian Healthcare Solutions, was named the recipient of the AACE Yank D. Coble, Jr M.D. Award for distinguished service earlier this month in Seattle. The award is presented by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) to a member and clinical endocrinologist recognized by their peers as a leader.

“We are very proud of Felice and the work that he has done,” says Fred Mamuya, M.D., vice president of medical policy at Noridian. “This is a wonderful, national recognition of his leadership in the field of endocrinology.”

Felice joined Noridian in 2022 as a CMD. During his medical career, his areas of focus have included endocrine health, and specifically diabetes management as it relates to insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, and the medical benefits of weight loss.

Dr. Caldarella acted as president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology from 2021-2022. In countless hours of service as a member of AACE, he led numerous committees. With his leadership, AACE saw creative program planning that included the expansion of educational activities to primary care providers, allied health professionals and the international community.

Significantly, he also led the development of AACE’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, which included a plan for expanding global reach – a powerful and heavy lift pivotal to the future the field. A key component of the plan is to be inclusive to all community members, including doctors, physician assistants, nurses, patients and others on support team.

“As a leader at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology,” Felice explains, “I worked to elevate clinical endocrinology to improve global health, and AACE’s vision to achieve healthier communities through endocrine innovation, education, and care.”

AACE is committed to building an inclusive community of individuals who work collectively to improve the care of patients with endocrine disorders, while treating each member of the endocrine care team and our patients with respect.
